What does it mean to help someone?

I knocked on all the freshman doors one night.

Seeing everyone's confused faces, their slow nodding, and their silent willingness as I flipped the pages of my booklet made me feel grateful and hopeful.

The experiment helped me connect with my class without having to say a single word!

I started by collecting some wood scraps and drilling them in the wood shop.

I dropped nuts and bolts into the holes to create a set of mechanical scissors.

Then I went to everyone’s doors with a bag of white fabric scraps.

In my flipbook, I write,

“Please comfort someone going through a tough time”.

and collected the fabric scraps left at their doors.
